THERE'S just no stopping Luis Suarez. Liverpool's lethal finisher added another two goals to his haul at Stoke on Sunday and he now has an incredible 22 goals in just 16 games.
No striker in Premier League history has scored more at this
stage of the season and the Uruguayan is well on course to break Alan Shearer
and Andy Cole's Premier League record of 34 in a single season.
They managed that in a 42-game campaign, but Suarez is
playing in a smaller league with just 38 games. And don't forget, he missed the
first five through suspension.
Player-appearances-goals-goals per game:
Luis Suarez 16 221.38 Liverpool
(2013-14)
Alan Shearer 21 190.90 Blackburn
(1995-96)
Andy Cole 21 190.90 Newcastle
(1993-94)
Les Ferdinand 21 19 0.90 Newcastle (1995-96)
Kevin Phillips 19 191.00 Sunderland
(1999-00)
At this rate, if Suarez keeps scoring and plays in all of Liverpool's remaining 17 games, he will finish the season
with an incredible 45 goals.
Suarez has scored all manner of goals this season, including
several goal-of-the-season contenders. Here's the breakdown:

Right foot: 16
