Continental Duty: NFF Set To Inspect Facilities Of Clubs

The Nigeria Football fFederation (NFf) will on Tuesday next week begin inspectionofstadia facilities of the country’s four clubs involved in continental competitions this year, it has been revealed in Abuja.
Nigeria's flag bearers are Enyimba International FC of Aba and Kano Pillars FC for the CAF Champions League, while , Warri Wolves FC and Bayelsa United FC of Yenagoa will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
According to Emmanuel Adesanya, head of Inter-club Activities in the Federation, in Abuja, four officials would be at the four venues simultaneously for the inspection. This is aheadfof an expected visit by a team of the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
In A release, it said “Rafiu Yusuf, a Chief Technical Officer, will be inspecting the Warri Township Stadium for Warri Wolves while as Adesanya himself would be at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa for Bayelsa United.
By the same token the release said, “Siji Lagunju, another Chief Technical Officer, will inspect the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba for Enyimba International FC, as Lawrence Katken, of the Competitions Department, who doubles as Secretary of the Nigeria National League (NNL), will be in Kano to inspect the Sani Abacha Stadium for Kano Pillars.”
He said the essence of the inspection was to ensure that the facilities were in good condition.
“We are expecting CAF to come for the final inspection by the first week in February, but we want to inspect the facilities first.
“This is to protect our image at the continental stage and to also ensure that our players and officials get good reception too when they go for their away matches,” Adesanya said.
The first round first leg matches in the CAF Champions League will hold between Feb. 7 and Feb. 9, while the return leg fixturesfollow two weeks later.
