Sudan's league champions, El Merreikh, arrived in Uganda Wednesday ahead of their second leg clash against KCCA FC on Saturday in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Michael Kruger, El Merreikh head coach, said they are here
to win the game.
"We have nothing to lose, but we simply need to go all
out and play football because we know we can also get a win in Kampala," he said.
Although the Ugandan champions KCCA FC had not been favored
to win away in Khartoum last weekend, they upset the Sudanese league champions
El Merreikh 2-0 in the first leg with Tony Odur and Herman Wasswa scoring the
goals.
The Sudanese team that lost to European Champions Bayern
Munich last month in an International friendly in Doha, Qatar
needs to beat the home side 3-0 to qualify for the next stage.
They will rely on stars like Ahmed El Basha, Ramathan Alagab
and Ragel Abdalla.
KCCA FC head coach Nsimbe said that El Merreikh is in for a
tough game on Saturday.
"We know El Merreikh is a seasoned team that has been
performing well, but they should not come and expect to have it easy here. Am
aware they beat us 1-0 in the same competition in 2009 at Nakivubo Stadium, but
we are ready for them this time," he said.
He said his team will need early goals to kill off the Sudan team.
If KCCA FC eliminates El Merreikh, they will face the winners
between Zambia's
Nkana Red Devils and Mbabane Swallows.
The Swaziland
team humbled Nkana 2-0 in the first leg played in Mbabane last weekend.
