Manuel Pellegrini and Brendan Rodgers' men are set to make the trip to the Big Apple in a highly anticipated clash on July 30, after the conclusion of the World Cup in Brazil.
City captain and centre-back Vincent Kompany, has expressed his excitement ahead of the tournament and has lauded the passion of the fans towards the Manchester giants.
"City have always enjoyed terrific support across the five boroughs having visited the states many times," Vincent Kompany told the club's official website.
"The passion of our New York fans was clear for all to see when we played at Yankee Stadium last year.
City will walk into Yankee Stadium with confidence, with their last game at the ground resulting in a convincing 5-3 win against Chelsea on May 26 last year, where Samir Nasri put in a standout performance, finding the back of the net twice.
"It was the highlight of our post-season tour and the players are relishing the opportunity to return for the Guinness International Champions Cup," Kompany added.
The encounter will mark a landmark game in the STates, launching City's sister club New York City FC as a Major League Soccer.
