Rio de Janeiro will host its second NBA exhibition match in October, local media reported on Saturday.
The NBA's managing director in Brazil, Arnon de Mello, told local
daily O Globo that the teams and date will be confirmed next month.
"We already have a game guaranteed," Mello said. "We are preparing
invitations and for that reason we still can't confirm who will be
playing. But we can say that one of the teams will have at least one
Brazilian."
In the first NBA match in South America at Rio's HSBC Arena last
October, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Washington Wizards 83-81.
Brazilians currently playing in the NBA include Nene (Washington
Wizards), Anderson Varejao (Cleveland Cavaliers), Tiago Splitter (San
Antonio Spurs), Leandrinho (Phoenix Suns) and Vitor Faverani (Boston
Celtics).
