FIFA u-17 World Cup: Mabo Carges Flamingoes To Beat China

*Mabo

Former Super Falcons coach, Ismaila Mabo has enjoined Nigeria’s national under-17 team Flamingoes  to work hard on their game and beat China in their opening group D match of the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup which  gets underway this weekend in Costa Rica.
The Flamingoes, who also have  Colombia and Mexico in the group, face China on March 16 at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, Alajuela.
Mabo, who has coach the senior women team to both World Cup and Olympic Games,  expressed the belief that  a “comprehensive victory in the encounter will put  Nigeria on a better and safer footing to run the championship, devoid of pressure. “I would ease the pressure off them as they seek to make an appreciable impact in the championship.
“I think Flamingoes have a very good chance to progress in group D and they can achieve that by starting on a good footing with victory in their opening match against China. If they are able to record victory in that game then they can face the remaining matches in the group with less pressure.
“I’ve been impressed with the team preparations in Faro and with the reports coming out from the camp of the Flamingoes I want to believe that they ready for the competition.
The former Super Falcons went ahead to warned the players not to be complacent as the championship progresses.
“I believe we’ve a good team in Costa Rican but they must avoid complacency in their games and if they are able to do that i can see them doing the nation proud,” he said
