The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is in its
Week 10 today and Technical Adviser of Crown FC of Oshogbo, Lawrence Akpokona,
has said his wards will be vying for the maximum points at stake against Enyimba
in Aba The former EnuguRangers International
and Bendel Insurance handler has however recalled that Enyimba’s home
draw against Nembe City asserted the Aba side can be beaten in their home, saying
achieving result is a matter of determination and focus by his side in the tie.
According to Akpokona, “we have put the Week 9 home draw
behind, “There is no club with monopoly of victory whether at home or away. If
a team plays well and take advantage of its chances, victory is guaranteed.
“Our mission in Aba
is to grab the maximum points, it’s not for fun. The boys are determined to do
that and they can achieve it because Enyimba is not invincible in Aba. They are beatable,”
he said.
Akpokona is relying on the defeat handed the Enyimba in Owerri by
Heartland in Week 9 last Sunday, promising that fans of both sides should expect a fierce and
thrilling encounter.
Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers will host Akwa United of Uyo to
another encounter expected to be very dicey as both teams are in search of points
to boost their status in the nine weeks old league.
Sadly, the Week 9 fixtures was not a too good one for both
sides as they dropped huge points in
their various matches home and away.
While Rangers lost 0-2 away to FC Taraba in Jalingo, Akwa
had a rather fair deal having shared the points at home with Sunshine Stars of
Akure in a game that ended 2-2.
