France
is set to host September's Davis Cup semifinal against the Czech
Republic on the claycourts of Roland Garros, the French Tennis
Federation announced on Monday.
It will be the first time that a Davis Cup match has been staged there since the 2002 semifinals when France defeated the United States before they lost 3-2 to Russia in the final, also held in Paris, but in the indoors Bercy Stadium.
The Czech Republic led by Thomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek have won the last two Davis Cups, while the last French win in the team event dates back to 2001 when they beat Australia in the final.
The tie will be played from September 12-14.
