-- Italian rider Elia Viviani won the fifth stage of
the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey on Thursday, beating British
sprint king Cavendish in the 183-kilometer stage from Marmaris to
Turgutreis in four hours, 34 minutes and 12 seconds.
Italian rider Kristian Sbaragli of the team MTN-Qhubeka came third.
Cavendish won three of the first four stages in the Tour of Turkey.
The sixth stage of the tour will begin from Bodrum and Selcuk, totally
182-kilometers, which will likely decide the overall winner.
The eight-stage journey will trace the Mediterranean and Aegean
coasts for the first seven stages until the end of the seventh stage in
Izmir.
After transferring the teams from Izmir to Istanbul by air, the tour
will witness its traditional finish in Istanbul on May 4, when the event
will wrap up with a route including a pass over the Bosphorus Bridge.
