Toure Might Quit City Over Happy Birthday Snub

FOR he’s very strange fellow … Yaya Toure is paid more than $500,000 a week and is key man for the EPL champions Manchester City — but money can’t buy him love.
In what we’re describing as the most ludicrous reason to seek a transfer from a club where you are paid bonkers money, revered by the fan base and wildly successful, Toure might throw it all away because no one wished him a happy birthday.
We’re not talking about a tender little child on a fifth birthday, Toure is a beast of a man, and 31. He turned that last week and what is obviously a massive day for him coincided with a Manchester City function; one which could prove more disastrous for the club than if their entire playing roster ingested kegs full of lager and illegal substances and made whoopy with a party of Man United WAGs.
Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk dropped the bombshell Tuesday. telling the English media that there is a “big possibility Yaya will leave this summer.
“He is very upset. What happened at his birthday means the club don’t care about him. It was proof.
“They can say whatever they want, “Oh we like him but we forgot”. Forgot? About Yaya? The player who helped you to be two-times Premier League champions? The guy who helped you win the FA Cup and League Cup?
“In a normal team, his teammates and club would at least give him good wishes. But when you win the title and two days later you have a big party to celebrate the title and nobody comes to Yaya to say happy birthday, what more do you want?”
To be fair to City — and believe us that can sometimes be hard — they did post a happy birthday tweet for him on his big day.
