MARK Schwarzer has hinted that he is
set to remain at Chelsea for another season, despite being listed as a
free agent by the English Premier League club.
The 41-year-old, who was signed by Blues boss Jose Mourinho
at the start of last season, is in talks with the English giants and
expects an announcement to be made in the next week.
Schwarzer says he has received interest from other clubs, but is confident he will remain at Stamford Bridge. “At
the moment there are ongoing discussions and there have been a lot of
things that needed to be sorted out prior to me re-signing at the club,
but hopefully in the coming days it will be sorted out,” he said.
“I
hope to play another season at the very least and hopefully in the next
week or so I can announce that I’ve signed again. I’m looking forward
to being fit and ready for next season and hopefully I’ll be at Chelsea
again next season.”
