LMC Suspends Premier League Games

The 2013/2014 Nigerian Premier League has been put on hold by the League Management Company (LMC), following the decision of the Nigeria Referees Association to withdraw their services from all NFF organized matches in the country. A statement from the LMC, signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar read: "The decision is in the light of the notice of withdrawal of services by the Nigerian Referees Association which makes it impossible for us to organize games". The Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria (APFON) has also called on professional players to boycott all league matches with immediate effect, citing the ongoing impasse in the Nigeria Football Federation.
