Enyimba FC mid-fielder, Kingsley Sokari has said that his
side's 2-1 victory over Dolphins in Sunday's men's Federation Cup final in
Lagos was achieved to pay back teeming fans of the club in the light of last
minute failure to capture the Nigerian Premier Football League title won by
Kano Pillars.
Although Sokari had described the 2013/2014 league season as
his best ever, he was however of the opinion that the club’s Federation Cup
triumph was his high moment in the season.
"There is no regret losing the league title. It's
football. Despite the fact that we lost the league title to Kano Pillars, the
Federation Cup that we won instead is enough to give our fans cause to smile and
also to serve them notice that we can win the league title next season. We won
it for the fans. So this trophy is dedicated to them, he said”
Sokari not only has a trophy to celebrate the season end, he
has in addition been invited to play in the senior national team Eagles AS mark
of a wonderful performance in the out-gone season
"This is a great season for me. I'm so excited winning
another Federation Cup with Enyimba but I’m also excited to have an invitation
to join the senior national team," he said.
"I feel so excited. It's been a great time for me –it’s
the best season in my football career, “he stated
