Chelsea secured an impressive 2-0 win at Stoke last night to restore their three point advantage over defending champions Manchester City in the title race.
Next month they play Liverpool in the Capital One Cup semi-final and
also begin their quest for the FA Cup with a Third Round tie at home to
Watford.
In February Chelsea will take on Paris Saint Germain in the last 16
of the Champions League and are strong favourites to progress in all
three cup competitions.
Matic believes the quality of Chelsea's football has made them start
thinking the almighty feat of lifting all four trophies this season is a
realistic target.
He said: "I think it's (the quadruple) possible - we have a chance. I
don't want to say that we're going to win it but we're going to try.
"We have quality but other teams are also strong and have quality also. But we will try and we will see if we can do it.
"I am confident, I believe in my team, my team-mates, so everything is possible.
"Its always important when you are mentally prepared like we are to
win. In this moment we are confident, we are top of the table and we
will try to continue like this."
Chelsea showed their strength in depth at the Britannia Stadium by
dropping Oscar to the bench, while internationals Loic Remy, Mohamed
Salah and Ramires weren't even in the squad.
Matic feels that is another indication why pursuing all four competitions is a possibility.
He added: "Of course the quality of the squad gives us confidence. We
are Chelsea, we have 25 players ready to play in every moment.
"It's very important for us that it doesn't matter who plays, we play
always the same and we play like a team, we play like we want. I'm
happy because of that so I will try to continue.
"It was very important for us to win against Stoke. We spoke before
the game that we have to expect a hard match because they are a very
good team especially in this stadium.
"We know that Chelsea last season lost points here (3-2 defeat) and
we were focused on this game, we prepared very well, I think we did our
job well and we're happy because of that.
"It's better to be first than second in the League so we are happy
because of that and we approach the next game with confidence."
