The Accra Badminton Club will host their counterparts from the Ikoyi
Club 1938 of Nigeria this Friday in a two-day friendly meet at the Accra
Sports Stadium.
The two teams will clash in the mid-veteran and veteran categories,
which are reserved for members of both clubs aged 35 to 40 and above 40
respectively.
The Accra Club will include former stalwarts of the sport such as
president of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), Nestor Percy
Galley, Dr Seth Attoh, Seth Larmie, Nathaniel Lamptey and Frank Shamo.
An executive member of the BAG, Ishmael Africanus, has called on lovers
of the sport to troop to the D.G. Hathiramani Hall to cheer the Accra
Club to victory.
He said: "The games are absolutely free; anyone can pop in and learn
about the sport of badminton. There will be lots of fun and excitement
as we re-live the days of our youth."
