Douglas Costa is a £16m Chelsea transfer target

According to the Daily Mail Chelsea have launched a £16million bid to sign Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk. Brazilian midfielder has dual-Portuguese nationality and wants to move.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk, is said to have been on the Blues’ radar for some time, with the west London club having had him watched from a young age. Indeed, both Chelsea and Manchester United made approaches to sign the midfielder when he was 18.

Costa, who has previously spent two years playing for Brazilian side Gremio, has featured in all six of his side's Champions League games so far this season.
