Arsene Wenger will make use of Arsenal’s summer transfer war chest with a stunning raid on Barcelona for Luis Suarez.
The Sun claims Wenger will make the Uruguyuan his top priority as he looks to return the Gunners to title contenders, and with Suarez’s slow start to life in Spain, the manager is confident he can prise him and bring him back to England.
The Sun’s Nick Lustig reports Barca’s sacking of sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta - the man who brought him to the club for $143m six months ago - makes for an uncertain future for the 27-year-old
Vamos Ramos! That’s the message from Jose Mourinho after the centreback rejected Real Madrid’s opening contract offer.
The 28-year-old - whose deal expires in 2017 - wants his pay to be equal that of teammates Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, and his contract status hasn’t gone unnoticed by English trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
And the The Express is reporting it’s the Blues who have moved first by contacting Ramos’s agent to see if the player would be interested in moving to west London.
Mourinho needs a long-term replacement for 34-year-old John Terry and coached Ramos during his time in Spain, though he won’t have a free run to the stopper, with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal and Gunners manager Arsene Wenger prepared to match any offer Chelsea produce.
