NSC Seeks Alternative Host For National Sports Festival

Should Cross River State not beshow total ability to host the National Sports Festival slated for Calabar, National Sports Commission NSC has taken steps to move the much postponed event elsewhere as both Ondo and Oyo States have asked to standby to make it happen this year.
NSC Director General, Alhassan Yakmut, said in Abuja that the commission was running out of time for both 2015 and 2016 editions of the Games.
He, however, said that the NSC would keep an open communication with Cross River to see if the incoming administration would continue what the outgoing administration was doing to host the festival.
The Director General gave an assurance that the Commission had taken preliminary steps to put the Games back on track, adding that the meeting of joint technical committee of the Main Organising Committee (MOC)and  all Directors of Sports from 36 States of the federation and the FCT would hold in a fortnight to decide the actual date and host of the festival.
“We are actually running behind time because we are now talking about not just the 2015 games but also the 2106 games. We are hoping that the meeting of the joint technical committee in a forthnight will find the way forward and come up with specific date for the festival”
