Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Hon. Silas
Ali Agara has congratulated President MuhammaduBuhari on the successful outing
of Team Nigeria in the just concluded 11th All African Games in
Congo Brazaville.
Mr. Agara stated this in a press statement
issued in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
According to Nasarawa State number two
citizen and Sport Administrator, Team Nigeria’s successes at the games which
place it second behind Egypt is no doubt a reflection of the ‘CHANGE’ era brought about by the
Buhari’s Administration.
He said the administration has achieved much
in sports in just three months in office, a feat that had eluded the nation
since the history of the games in addition to D’ Tigers’ exploit at the recent
Afro Basket Ball Championship in Senegal where they emerged victorious for the
first time in the 50 years history of the Championship.
He equally felicitated with the Director
General, National Sports Commission, Mr. AlhassanYakmut and the Nigerian contingents
for making the nation proud during their time.
The Deputy Governor therefore urged the
National Sports Commission to commence early preparation for the “Rio
2016 Olympic Games” in Brazil to avoid the usual fire brigade approach
of the past.
He advised the athletes to redouble their
effort in order to surpass their present records and avoid the use of
performance enhancing drugs before and during the games.
