Childrens Day: MRS U-12 Kids Cup Kick-Off In Lagos By Uzor Odigbo The 4th edition of MRS U-12 kids cup finals will be played at the Campus Square mini-stadium on the 27th May 2016, in Lagos. The competition which started in March with 63 teams, boys and girls was reduce to two finalists namely, Mary Age Fc from Sabo and Aloro Fc from Epe. The female teams comprised of U-16 girls while the boys team was restricted to U-12 teams. The competition which will kick off by 2 pm on Friday will also be used to mark the Children's Day celebration. Aside the trophy, prizes for the first victorious team will be N250.000, the runner up will take home N150.000, the third placed team will cart away N100.000. The female team prizes are the same. In a media chat, MRS managing director, Mr. Andrew Gbodume said his company has fully realised the benefits of it's sponsorship of the grassroots tournament. According to him, the fact that some of the products from the tournament have been elevated to bigger national teams was very gladdening. He insisted that MRS is not only fulfilling its commitment in its service to their immediate communities, but also providing fulfilment to the teeming youth makes it all joy. Since the the competition would make the kids actualise their football dreams, the company he said, has made plans to add scholarships as incentives for excellence to the kids future. The tournament make the children stronger, better focused and hard work oriented. Every child that comes to watch the football game will be refreshed and also go home with a prize, he said.
