UCL Final:2014 memories drive on Atletico defender Godin ahead of Champions League rematch v Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin says memories of his side' s defeat to Real Madrid in the 2014 Champions League final will drive him on when the two sides meet again in Milan on Saturday night.
Godin scored the goal which looked as if it was going to give Atletico the 2014 title before Sergio Ramos' 93rd minute header carried the match into extra-time where Real Madrid took advantage of an exhausted Atletico to run out 4-1 winners.
"It was great to score in the final, but we weren' t able to lift the trophy and that was what matters," said Godin in Spanish sports paper, Marca.
"We have to take positives from that defeat, because it showed us where we have to improve," he commented, although he also admitted that "it was very hard to forget that final in the 2014-15 season."
"All of the players wanted to get to the final again and now we have done that, we should use that experience to make sure it doesn' t happen again," said the central defender.
"Ever since that final, we have said it was our dream to lift the Champions League and we have never hidden that ambition and we are going to fight for it," said Godin.
