legend Pelé believes Neymar’s decision to move to Barcelona will benefit Brazil at this summer’s FIFA World
Cup.
The 21 year-old left Santos
to join Barça for a fee reported at the time to be around €57 million.
Some speculated that making the switch to Europe a year
before the FIFA World Cup was a risk, but having watched Neymar settled quickly
in Spain, Pelé believes the decision to move has paid off.
“He is our child and a wonderful young man who had the
chance to go to Barcelona, and it’ll be very
good for Brazil,”
he said, as reported by Football Espana.
“Neymar is getting a very important experience there.”
Neymar, who is currently injured, has scored nine goals in
22 appearances for Barcelona
this season.
