Wheelchair Tennis:Nigeria ‘ll the parade the best for African Qualifiers, says Tarmena

National Wheelchair tennis coach, Frank Termena, has said that Nigeria has a strong team that would retain it’s  status as the number one in Africa as the team intensifies preparations for the 4th African Wheelchair Tennis Regional Qualifiers slated for the Kenyan capital, Nairobi from February26 to March 3.
Speaking in Lagos, Termena said Nigeria the team has done enough home work to keep that would see it   retain the African top rating in both men and women. “Nigeria, which has won the even in the past three years, is this time presenting a team of five players, two men- Alex Adewale Wasiu Yussuf and three women namely Remi Basoya, Tosin Daudu with Loice Auta going as female non- playing captain.
 “We are going with a mission this time and that is to go beyond being champions of Africa but now attempt to join in the top five in the world when the World Cup holds in Holland in May, he stated. Termena, who said Nigeria’s rating in the world was seventh after the last world cup, said the desire now is to climb up the ladder. Asked about the readiness of the players, he said “the male players are in top shape. Alex recently came back from a tri to the United States, Wasiu has trained vigorously here I have more or less focused on the females in training here in Lagos. The team is expected to leave Lagos for Kenya on 25 February.
