Enyimba Crush Lobi Stars 3-0

*An action scene during the tie
Enyimba showed their overwhelming superiority against Lobi Stars with a crushing 3-0 win over the Makurdi based side on Matchday 8 of the Glo Premier League.
The Elephants extended their run of good form with a commanding display of free-flowing attacking football that thrilled the home crowd as they took Lobi Stars apart, piece by piece.
It didn't take long for the six-time champions to assert their authority over the visitors and in the fifteenth minute, Abdulrahman Bashir, hero against Akwa United on Matchday 6 provided the spark needed when he tapped into an empty net after Andrew Abalogu's had jinxed his way past two Lobi defenders and laid a peach of a pass to him.
Eleven minutes later, Abalogu himself grabbed the second goal of the afternoon and his first of the season when his diving header beat Lobi's Terka Melai.
Andrew Abalogu, Mfon Udoh and Abdulrahman Bashir were pivotal in attack for Enyimba as they switched sides and rang rings around a poor Lobi backline while in midfield, Rasheed Olabiyi and Abdulrazaq Aliyu were in control with Kingsley Sokari confined to the bench.
Lobi did threaten in the first half after a counter-attacking move that provided a two-to-one situation but Ukeyima Akombo's effort was too feeble and goalkeeper Paul Godwin, who had hardly been called into action made a routine save.
Enyimba were not quick however to kill off the contest and the early moments of second period proved a more even contest but Evans Ogenyi's men, as they did in the first half, failed to find a way past Chibuzor Madu and captain Chinedu Udoji. Markson Ojobo was phenomenal down the right and he provided massive cover in defence even as he supported the attack with well timed runs and great crosses.
After a relentless surge on the Lobi goal, Enyimba eventually completed the rout with a deserved third when eight minutes from time, thanks to the brilliance of Mfon Udoh who had been a huge thorn in the flesh of the visitors all afternoon.
He raced past three Lobi defenders to smash home from outside the box, beating Melai at his far post. It was a goal that infuriated the Lobi Stars goalkeeper who had been excellent in the second half. A goal that underscored just how poor his defenders had been from the start.
By the time the final whistle sounded, there was a huge roar of applause from the crowd. It was a near perfect display by their team and one that lifted them into eight place on the log
