Moyes Departure Could Spark Moves For Fernando Torres, Marco Reus

 PLAYERS ON EDGE
*VAN PERSIE
Whenever a manager comes or goes, it has ramifications for a playing group - be it at a local club or a world power like Manchester United.
Patrice Evra is one who might stick around now, after being heavily linked with Paris Saint Germain and Inter Milan.
There’s a lineage of players who would have liked more game, or to have been played in their preferred positions by Moyes. They’ll be waiting eagerly to see who is arriving. It’s a list featuring the likes of Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, Shinji Kagawa, Javier Hernandez, Nani and Danny Welbeck.
What about Marouane Fellaini? He’s the symbol of the Moyes era - will he be the first person the new boss cleans out?
HAPPY VAN GAAL, HAPPY VAN PERSIE
A few weeks ago the Netherlands manager was seen as a sure thing to take over from Tim Sherwood at Tottenham, but now the Mirror is reporting van Gaal has moved on from his White Hart Lane dalliance and is ready to hear from Old Trafford.
The Mirror says van Gaal is expecting to meet with United’s executive team this week to discuss details of a possible deal.
One of the key reasons van Gaal is seen as an ideal replacement, apart from his impressive managerial record that includes seven league titles across three clubs and two countries, is his relationship with star Red Devils striker Robin van Persie.
The pair will be leading the Dutch charge at the World Cup and van Gaal spoke earlier this year about how happy van Persie was when he linked up with the national team.
“He loves to play in the Dutch squad,” van Gaal said back in February.
‘The football from Man United now is for him maybe difficult but then he wishes to show his techniques. Techniques in the Dutch team for him is higher.”
According to one Dutchman who enjoyed a fair amount of success in the EPL, former Nottingham Forest player Pierre van Hooijdonk, van Persie will stay put if his national mentor arrives at Old Trafford.
“Let me tell you one thing: if Van Gaal becomes manager of Manchester United, Van Persie will stay,” van Hooijdonk said.

KLOPP DEPARTURE COULD TRIGGER MASS EXODUS
Borussia Dortmund will be hoping Juergen Klopp can’t be influenced to change his mind after declaring his future is at the Bundesliga club.
Having already lost young midfielder Mario Goetze to rivals Bayern Munich last year, and with striker Robert Lewandowski set to follow the same path at the end of this season, Dortmund can ill-afford to leak more players.
But if Klopp heads to England there’s a strong possibility he’ll be joined by a player currently under his command, Marco Reus.
In an interview with London’s Express, Goetze said his former Dortmund teammate had wanted to move to United for some time.
“When I was at Borussia, Marco wanted a move to Manchester United, he hasn’t changed,” Goetze said.
Another German who has been linked to Old Trafford under Moyes’s tenure is Toni Kroos, who would become even more likely to make the move if Klopp was in charge.
However, Kroos’ manager appeared to shut down those rumours by telling BBC Sport, “There’s no official contract offer and there’s no need for United to submit one. Toni’s at Bayern until at least 2015.”
Another Dortmund player eyeing a move to the EPL is defender Marcel Schmelzer, although he is the target of a £10 million bid by Liverpool, according to Metro.
