McEnroe Tips Nick Kyrgios To Reach World’s Top Five Tennis Players

THE weight of expectations on the shoulders of Nick Kyrgios have increased with John McEnroe declaring him the best young player in the game.
With the Australian Open looming, McEnroe — one of the game’s greatest players and most respected commentators — has declared the teenager from Canberra a definite top-five player in the world.
“The sky is the limit for Nick,” McEnroe told The Daily Telegraph.
“He has the potential to be an incredible shining star.
“When I saw him at Wimbledon, when he made his breakthrough, I thought this guy is going to be top five in the world for sure.”
McEnroe hasn’t seen much of Kygrios since his fourth-round Wimbledon win against Rafael Nadal, but he will get another good look at him at the Apia International in Sydney, where the 55-year-old American will be taking on Pat Rafter in the legends event.
McEnroe and Kyrgios could be on the same bill should the teenager make it through to the final.
