Mfon Udoh Set New Nigeria League Goals Record With Brace Versus Pillars

Enyimba forward Mfon Udoh set a new Nigeria Premier League goalscoring record after his brace against Pillars brought his total to 23 goals in the 2013/2014 league season. He had earlier smashed Jude Aneke's former record of 20 goals scored in a season when he notched up 21 before improving on his on the last day of the 2013 2014 season in Aba.
.The 22-year-old gave Enyimba the lead against Kano Pillars in the first half with a long range effort from the edge of the area that goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai could do nothing about.
He then grabbed his second of the day on the brink of half time after he clattered the ball home, following a defensive error by Pillars' defense.
The Akwa Ibom-born star, who scored 15 goals last season for the Promise Keepers before he joined Enyimba, has scored a total of 25 goals in all competition for Enyimba including two goals in the Federation Cup.
