Manchester United’s stuttering season at critical point following 2-1 FA Cup loss to Arsenal
EVEN before Tuesday morning’s FA Cup
loss to Arsenal, Louis van Gaal claimed Manchester United’s priority
was finishing in the top four and securing a spot in next season’s
Champions League.
Now that the Red Devils are out of the Cup – defeated 2-1 by
Arsenal at Old Trafford - van Gaal’s squad can focus on domestic duties,
not that they’ll really want to.Tottenham (h), Liverpool (a), Aston Villa (h), Manchester City (h), Chelsea (a) and Everton (a).
That’s their next six opponents in the league, a daunting prospect for a side that despite losing just three of their last 23 matches, have always looked like they’re desperately holding on to their spot in the top four.
