Rodgers Theatre Of Dreams

*?REDS’ BARGAIN

Bojan Krkic — remember him? Spanish striker, big name a few years ago, Roma bought him for a huge fee … No? Kind of?
Krkic was one of the hottest properties in European football when the Italian giant snapped him up, but after failed spells with AC Milan and Barcelona, the 23-year-old is now on loan at Ajax — but Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers reckons he could be a cheeky purchase at as little as $9 million.
The Mirror reports Anfield scouts see Krkic as another Philippe Coutinho, who was on the fringes at Inter until Liverpool snapped him up for just $16m, with the Brazilian becoming a key player in the Reds’ dark horse title charge.
A versatile front man who can play across the frontline, Krkic is unsure whether he will earn a permanent deal with Ajax and bargain-hunter Rodgers may swoop in the European summer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s hottest property, Luis Suarez, has revealed the part Steven Gerrard played in keeping him at the club.
The whole Suarez transfer saga was one of the big pre-season dramas but the Uruguayan says the Reds skipper was instrumental in his decision to stay at Anfield — a move that looks to have paid off.
“He didn’t talk about me, or through me, in the press, but in person,” Suarez tells FourFourTwo.
“In those moments I forgot that he was ‘world football great Gerrard’, a Liverpool legend, but as a humble person who spoke to me with all his heart for hours.
“He said I was the best forward he’d ever played with, which given the amazing strikers that he’s played with at Liverpool, was amazing for me to hear.
“I’ll never forget that.”
CITY’S TITLE
Manchester City will win the Premier League — so says former boss Roberto Mancini.
The Italian, now at Turkish giant Galatasaray, wasn’t backwards in coming forwards, saying it was his time at the club that has now put them in the position to win their second EPL title.
“I worked really well in Manchester and I am proud of what we did, we changed the history of Manchester,” Mancini told Sky Sports.
“Now it’s easy to win with Manchester City because they changed the mentality three years ago and they have good players — it’s not difficult to win.”
There you go, Manuel. It’s easy. So if you don’t win, it’s because you’re rubbish. OK, we’re reading between the lines a little but that’s basically what he’s saying, right?
NIKE’S TEASE

Nike has released an advertisement for its new boot, the Magista, but if you’re hanging out to see what it looks like, you’ll have to wait until March 6.
The commercial features world superstars Andres Iniesta, Mario Gotze, Thiago Silva, Arda Turan, David Luiz, Christian Eriksen and Mamadou Sakho trying out the new piece of footwear.
The boot is blurred out in the ad, leaving everyone guessing what it actually looks like, but according to Nike, “football will never be the same”.
EVERYBODY LOVES ROY
Everybody loves Roy Keane, because he’s such a laugh-a-minute, life-of-the-party, ob-la-di-ob-la-da kind of guy. As proven in this unintentionally hilarious selfie taken by UK football journo Stuart Fraser
