Nigeria's home based Super Eagles now preparing for the African Nations Championship CHAN early next year in South Africa, have been scheduled to play a friendly match against top Premier League side, Lobi Stars of Markurdi in Abuja on Saturday, December 21. Lobi Stars on their part have said the match is being used training ahead of the  2013/2014 season which kick-off date is unknown.
Though happy that this friendly will hold for his side, head Coach Stephen Keshi is however not happy that the team will not have opportunity to play a top side before its first match in South Africa against Mali on January 11, 2014.
“It’s unfortunate that we may not get to play a national side before we head to South Africa. The team will also play another top home side Niger Tornadoes in Abuja to test the readiness of the team,” “We have doubled our training intensity, but we are careful not to break the players because some of them have not undergone such training at club level.
