Nigeria’s Sule wins African Para-Table Tennis champion, Waits for World’s
Nigeria’s Nosiru Sule , who emerged the champion of the 2014 World Para Table Tennis Championships held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, now has his eye on the world championship holding in Beijing, China in 2014
.Strikingly, Sule, who is Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games bronze medalist, entered the African fair as number 3 seed behind the Egyptian pair of Ayman Zenati, the no.1 and Adel Ahmed Ahmed in no.2. Five players featured in the men’s class five and class three category of which only one had the ticket to China. He said in an interview that his focus was now on the world championships in China. “I would like to prepare so as to have a good outing in Beijing.”
Sule and another Nigerian Ahmed Koleosho featured event. Sule proved his mettle by winning all his matches with 12-10, 12-10, 11-6 over Zenati, losing to Egypt’s Hassan Hefny 9-11, 7-11, 11-9, 5-11. But rallied back to defeat Egypt’s Ahmed 11-8, 8-11, 11-3, 11-8 and South Africa’s Tankiso Hata 11-4, 12-10, 11-4.
