Doctor: Schumacher Slightly Better But Fragile
Doctors treating the former Formula One legend have announced that he is showing slight improvement following a second surgery for the head injuries suffered in a skiing accident.
Doctors also say they have not determined how long to maintain Schumacher’s medically induced coma, which is protocol for preventing further brain damage. Schumacher has been in critical condition since Sunday, when he got hurt while skiing in the Alps.
According to his manager, he was injured by "extreme bad luck, not speed". She told a press conference that the Formula One legend was not going particularly fast but hit a concealed rock with his skis, which threw him into the air before he landed head-first on another rock.
