AUSTRALIA'S Marinko Matosevic has caused his second upset of the Brisbane International to remain on track for a possible quarter-final clash against Roger Federer.
Matosevic secured a hard-fought 5-7 7-6 (3) 6-4 victory over American Sam Querrey and will play the winner of tonight's showcase between top seed Federer and Finland's Jarkko Nieminen.
Matosevic upset French world No.35 Julien Benneteau in the opening round to secure his first main draw win in Australia from 10 attempts.
The Australian started unsteadily against Querrey, ranked 15 places higher at No.46.
He allowed the American to jump to a 2-0 lead but then bridged the gap and drew level before being broken in the final game of the first set.
