CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho has
made the startling admission that he wants to play his second XI in the
title-deciding match against Liverpool this weekend, but the decision
ultimately rests with club owner Roman Abramovich.
Mourinho made the comments following Chelsea’s 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg.
The
return leg is on Thursday morning (Australian time) next week, just
days after the Blues play Liverpool at Anfield in a game that is likely
to play a huge role in deciding who takes out this year’s Premier League
title.
The Portuguese manager stunned the assembled press pack by
openly admitting his preference was to rest most of his first-team
players on the weekend so they’re fresh for the clash against Atletico.
