Terry must take Chelsea Pay Cut

John Terry has been offered a new one-year contract by Chelsea - but must accept a massive pay-cut to stay at the club he joined at 14.
The Blues' captain's current £150,000-a-week deal expires this summer and the 33-year-old has been told he cannot expect to maintain that level if he decides to remain at Stamford Bridge next season. The former England centre-back has been outstanding this season and appears rejuvenated under returning manager Jose Mourinho but club officials will not budge on their policy that outfield players over 30 are only offered one-year extensions - and on reduced terms. Terry attracted strong interest from foreign clubs aware of the situation, with Turkish giants Galatasaray ready to offer a king's ransom to lure him away from Chelsea. Premier League clubs are also believed to be waiting in the wings to offer Terry terms, although he is believed to be reluctant to pull on the colours of another club and walk into the Stamford Bridge away dressing room one day.
