Campos FC Owerri wins Imo U-13/ U 15 Youth League

Campos FC Owerri have emerged double champions of the Imo youth league after winning both the Under-13 and Under 15 categories concluded in Owerri recently. In the Under- 13 category, Campos beat Imo Academy side by 5-0 and however met a much tougher opposition as the Under 15 finals as the game was decided on penalty shootout won by Campos. For their gallantry, Campos FC carted home a total N70, 000 and two trophies as prize money for the double victory. Team coach Obinna Ekezie noted that the players had from the onset of the competition proved they were bound for glory giving that 20 teams took part in the competition. Campos FC owner, Patrick osuji, who was full of praise for the players, pledge he would continue to fund the team as a means to empower the youth in the state and his part contribution to development of the game at grassroots level. He later hosted the team to a victory party “I am happy because they played and won the league while I was away. They have been wonderful” he said. Imo State is in South- East Nigeria
