Gazza Arrested for Criminal Damage

PAUL Gascoigne has been arrested by British police after allegedly throwing a brick at a van following an altercation with a photographer. British media reported that the 47-year-old former England midfielder was taken into custody after being arrested at his home in Dorset on Wednesday afternoon. Gascoigne was wearing a hooded dressing gown when he was was assisted by several officers into the back of a police van. He was questioned at Poole police station and later released on bail. “At 1.42pm officers attended a disturbance (and) a 47-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said. “He was released on bail until October pending further enquiries.” Gascoigne was the most talented English footballer of his generation but he has struggled with alcoholism since retiring in 2004.
