Roma defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is expected to be out of action for three weeks with a right thigh injury. The French international, who is on loan from Newcastle, got hurt during Friday's 1-1 draw against Albania.A statement from Roma read: "Yanga-Mbiwa underwent medical tests today that confirmed a grade-one strain to his right thigh."The player has already started treatment for the injury."
No
timeframe is specified for Yanga-Mbiwa's return but he is likely to be
out for three weeks, missing the Serie A matches against Atalanta, Inter
Milan and Sassuolo, and next week's Champions League encounter at CSKA
Moscow.
The 25-year-old could return for Roma's Champions League home game against Manchester City on December 10.
Yanga-Mbiwa's
absence is a blow for Roma coach Rudi Garcia, with the player having
started in eight league matches for Roma this season.
Roma head into Saturday's match at Atalanta in second place in Serie A, three points adrift of league leaders Juventus.
The
Eternal City outfit is also alive in the Champions League, second in
their pool, level on four points with CSKA Moscow, who are third.
