Gov. Orji Swears In New Abia State Chief Judge

Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia on Monday in Umuahia swore in Hon. Justice Theresa Uzokwe as Chief Judge (CJ) of the State.
Orji charged the new CJ ``to ensure unity in the judiciary by carrying his colleagues along in the scheme of things.’’
Describing Uzokwe as ``intelligent and experienced,’’ the governor advised the CJ to draw from her wealth of experience, having acted as CJ at different times, to take the judiciary to higher heights.
He noted that the judiciary had recorded some developmental strides in the last few months under her watch as the acting CJ and urged her to sustain the tempo ``now that you have become the substantive CJ.”
Responding, the CJ thanked the governor for giving her the opportunity to serve the state.
She promised not to rest on her oars in the efforts to uplift the judiciary.
Uzokwe, who began her legal career about 33 years ago, hails from Anambra state.
