Global Boxing Union, GBU Intercontinental super-
middleweight champion, Innocent Okorie of Nigeria has vowed to hold on to the
hold on to the title as long as he has the ability, saying “anybody who

The 34 old Okorie who won the crown in December last year in
Messplatz, Karlsruhe Germany via a round three knockout of Adia Rosidi of
Hungary, told AroundTheSports in an interview in Lagos, the feat was only a

with eyes having a world title shot. “I
have the energy and I will continue to fight as long as I can. Okorie, who goes
by the ring name ‘Max Jumbo Maier’, defended the title last weekend against
Alexander Jankovic and won via another third round technical knockout still in
Karlsruhe Germany, With another defense of the title slated for22 against a yet
to be named opponent still in the European country, Okorie said “I have been
able to do it because I use different techniques. My opponents go on you-tube
to watch my tape and video but they are caught napping because I would always
change tactics I go with a different technique for each fight. I don’t use the
same approach.”
Though he has eyes on bigger fights, Okorie revealed
exclusively he is bidding his time. “Right now I am still building my record to
get to a level that will help me move up. I want to enter the ratings of the
major sanctioning bodies such as the WBC. That is my target. Once I’m able to
achieve this, then I can rightly challenge for bigger honors via the European
and WBC platforms,” he stated.
Indeed, the Nigerian flag bearer parades6 fights won with 5

born fighter, who has a German wife said “I am fully Nigerian. I carry the
national flag into every of my fights and the national Anthem of Nigeria is a

cheer and believe. I have many German fans who love to watch my fight. I am
also patronized by Nigerians who reside in Germany,” he added.
