Akwa United FC Chairman, Obong Isong Isang has resigned, six weeks into the new season.In
a letter published on the NPFL website, the former chairman, who has been in charge of the Uyo side for a record eight years,
said his resignation is based on health grounds.
Accepting his
resignation on behalf of the team, secretary of the club board, Mr. Uko
Akpabio thanked Isong for his contributions to the development of
the team, assuring supporters of the club that his departure will not
affect the club's performance.
In the interim, the club's board
has unanimously appointed Akparawa Nse Ubeh as acting chairman. Until
his appointment, Mr. Ubeh was the vice chairman of the club.
