great of the game has put his support firmly behind the Cavs superstar.
Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, former Detroit Pistons star and current New York Liberty coach Bill Laimbeer said he would take LeBron over MJ if he had the choice.
“There’s no question that I would take LeBron James, he can do more,” said Laimbeer.
“Michael Jordan could score big shots and look spectacular at times with wild flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds, LeBron can get you 15 assists if he chooses to, or even score 50 if he wanted to.
“He can score at will. He can score whenever he feels like it.
“The triple threat that he poses is just phenomenal.”
Laimbeer pointed to James’ ability to work with his teammates as another reason why the Cleveland gun gets the nod over the Chicago Bulls legend.
“LeBron came into the league knowing how to play basketball and involve his teammates. Jordan had to learn that and then they had to assemble some great teammates around him in order for him to win,” Laimbeer said.
“He (LeBron) has a little bit more magic in him because he can distribute.”
Both players boast records not be sneered at, with Jordan laying claim to being a six-time NBA champion, while he was also named the NBA MVP five times throughout his career.
In comparison, LeBron has been selected as the NBA MVP four times, while he has only two NBA championships to his name.
The King will be hoping to add to his tally of NBA rings when Cavs begin their finals campaign against the Golden State Warriors on June 5.
