Pedro Rodríguez threw the idea of a bedding-in period out of the window in his first half an hour for Chelsea.
In his first game for the Blues, the former Barça star scored a goal, provided an assist, had 56 touches and registered a passing accuracy of 88%. It was an unbeatable debut, but he is not the only Spaniard to have hit the ground running in England.
Kepa, Xisco and Antonio Luna's only Premier League goals came on their debuts. It took Kepa just 70 seconds and one touch to open and close his account with West Ham. Xisco had a bittersweet start at Newcastle: he found the back of the net, but his team lost. Luna also grabbed the spotlight by scoring in Aston Villa's surprise win over Arsenal at the Emirates. As did Javi García, who is not renowned for his goalscoring ability, but salvaged a point for City in his first game.
But when it comes to debuts, no one has outdone Michu. He got off to an absolute flier with two goals and an assist to destroy QPR. Roberto Soldado also started his career in England with a goal, from the penalty spot, although things more or less went downhill after that. The same cannot be said for Juan Mata or Diego Costa, who scored on their Premier League debuts for Chelsea. Those goals were the first of many.
