EPL Deadline- Day winners and losers

PREMIER League clubs splashed out a record £90m ($A197m) on Deadline Day, to take the summer spending to a grand total of £870m ($1.9bn).The likes of Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Marco Reus stayed put, while David De Gea and Saido Berahino’s failed moves made more headlines than if they had succeeded. While Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City were largely anonymous, it was some of the EPL’s middle tier clubs who will be happiest with their late flurry on Deadline Day. Indeed, West Ham might have won the day, with their chairman David Gold Tweeting jubilantly: “The widow has closed, well done DS, Slaven and all involved in what has been one of the most remarkable transfer windows in our history.”
