ECOWAS CYCLINGTOUR: VORY COAST LEAD STAGE ONE

 Ouatarra Bolodugui from the Ivory Coast is leading the pack with 30 points
in stage one of the ECOWAS International Cycling Tour which began in Lagos Nigeria to Cotonou, Benin Republic over 111 kms.
According to reports, Ghanaian rider, Samuel Anim followed in second position. As many as 72 riders from 14 West African countries are participating in the Tour.
Reports say the stage two will roll from the Cotonou in to Lome in Togo from where the entire entourage of cyclists and officials will then be bused onwards to Accra where they will pass the night before proceeding to the Ivory Coast on the next stage.
Meanwhile, Ghana's Abdul Razak Umar, who placed 7th in stage one, won the youngest rider and the best fighter award. His time of 3hrs,25mins,20secs was better than those of old war horses, Bashiru Konte of the ivory coast, Bikienga Salfo of Burkina Faso,and past Tour winner and hero Rasmane Ouedrago of Burkina Faso.
