NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE: DOLPHIN EXPLAIN BABAYARO, OJABU SACK



                                              



 Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt have given reasons why they about 12 key players including Victor Babayaro and Omo Ojabu dropped from the current team roaster.
A top club source said Babayaro, who has been with the side since 2005 and Ojabu were deemed “surplus to requirements by the coaches.”
The club retained 23 out of the 35 players who featured in the immediate past season,” the source stated.
Babyaro was noted to have played 291 times for the club in all competitions during his time at the Port Harcport side and was hoping to hit the 300 appearances mark had he been retained.
Top of the list of retained players are captain and longest serving player, goalkeeper Sunday Rotimi, Fred Okwara and Ifeanyi Egwim, both noted as club joint top scorers last season. Others are Emem Eduok, Isiaka Olawale, Omo Johnson and Naseem Abutreika
Emeka Atuloma, Olewezi Johnson, Derek Amadi, Daniel Israel, Festus Austin, Victor Ezuruike, Baker Ebimaowei, Joseph DaoHadji, Chizoba Amaefule, Chidiebere Okolie, Hassan Hussein, Austin Brown, Osaro Nwafor, Monday Finma and Eze Chidiebere.
