Alves Owns Up To Barca woes

Dani Alves has put his hands up and admitted he will take the blame for Barcelona’s Copa del Rey defeat if someone has to.
Barcelona were behind for the vast majority of the game but Marc Bartra equalised following Ángel di María’s opener, however, with just five minutes remaining Gareth Bale scored a sensational solo goal to win it for Real Madrid 2-1.
Alves spoke to Marca after the game and revealed Barcelona believed they were the ones that could get the decisive second goal.
The Brazilian said: “We thought we could get the second goal but it has gone the other way.
“We’re leaving Valencia very unhappy, very sad, because people came hoping to see us win a trophy.”
Football Espana quoted the 30-year-old who said he would defend the club he loves about until the bitter end.
“If we have to get in line to be shot, I’ll be shot,” Alves added.
“That’s my personality. And that is football. You’re the best when you win and the worst when you don’t.
“I care a lot about this great club. I will defend the shirt with love until the end.”
