Fernandinho Dares Man City To End The Season With Five Straight Wins

*Labels Sunderland Draw Complete disaster
Fernandinho’s disappointment on Tuesday night was clear after Manchester City lost ground in the title race following a home draw against Sunderland. However, he has tried to inspire his team mates by insisting the title race is far from over and he still believes it will go down to the wire.
The Brazilian spoke to Manchester Evening News after the game and challenged his team mates to win every game between now and the end of the season.
“We need to keep on – they (Liverpool and Chelsea) can drop some points in their games and we need to win five games,” Fernandinho said.
“We will see what happens in the end, but we need to recover our motivation for the next game and beat West Brom at home.”
Fernandinho went on to talk about the competitiveness of the Premier League and how each side in the title race has a chance.
He added: “We still have five more games, and are waiting for Liverpool or Chelsea to drop some points, and we will see what happens then.
“A lot of people have said this season has been the most competitive Premier League, with three teams that all had to be champions, and I am sure it will still be decided in the last game.”
Meanwhile,  as Manchester City’s Premier League title hopes took a huge blow  when they were held to a 2-2 draw by relegation threatened Sunderland at the Etihad.
When Fernandinho scored after two minutes for City three points seemed a formality for the hosts, however the Black Cats battled back and in the end the Manchester club needed a late strike to secure an equaliser.
Englishman Connor Wickham scored twice for Sunderland before Samir Nasri equalised, thanks in part to away keeper Vito Mannone’s blunder.
The scorer of the opening goal, Fernandinho, admitted after the game that the result was hugely disappointing.
The Brazilian spoke to Manchester Evening News and said: “The whole team is disappointed about the result, especially in the way we played.
“The result was a complete disaster for us.
“We started well and scored the goal, but for 50 minutes after that we lost control of the game and they played better than us.
“Right at the end we tried to score another goal but it wasn’t enough.”
The result leaves City third in the table and six points behind league leaders Liverpool, with just five games remaining, and only one in hand.
