Tears and title dreams aside, it’s been another extraordinary week for Luis Suarez.
After
equalling Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo’s record goal haul for a
38-game EPL season, the Uruguayan has been picking up awards for fun.
Before
the Selhurst Park debacle, he received the Football Writers’ Player of
the Year to go with the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of
the Year.
Overnight, he won Liverpool Players’ Player of the Year,
Fans’ Player of the Year and the scorer of the club’s goal of the
season as well.
His skipper, Steven Gerrard, said: “Luis seems to
be cleaning up at the moment. He’s won everything and we are lucky to
have such a world-class talent like Luis playing here with us and
helping us to great things and be successful.
