Yesterday, the Catalan club announced Marc André Ter Stegen
as their new player for the following five years. The German youngster,
who up until now has been the star shot-stopper for Borussia
Moenchengladbach has been picked as the man to take over from where
Víctor Valdés left off. According to the new signing, he leaves Borussia
with "a weird feeling".
The young keeper has been at the German club virtually all his life - since 1996, when he was just 4 years old. "I have been in this club for 18 years. I know that after the summer break life will go on, both for me and Borussia; but it's a weird feeling, because I'm going to miss Borussia". Ter Stegen, who made these statements on the Bundesliga's official website, is however very happy with his decision to move to Barcelona. "I'm immensely happy about my move."
The German is set to replace Víctor Valdés but the club might also decide to take on another keeper with more experience. A veteran might prove to be a good signing as presently Barça have two young keepers on the books.
